Oopsy… Obama Met With Blagojevich in Chicago On Nov. 5 To Discuss Senate SeatCHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN—
“Obviously like the rest of the people of Illinois I am saddened and sobered by the news that came out of the US attorney’s office today… I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”
Barack Obama
After the Arrest of his close friend Governor Blagojevich
December 9, 2008
Of course, David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago on November 23, 2008and said Obama’s “talked to the governor” about his replacement.
And, Connect Tristates also reported that Obama was meeting Governor Blagojevich on Wednesday November 5, 2008 to discuss his senate seat:
Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That’s one of Obama’s first priorities today.
He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.

Here’s more on that meeting with Obama from the governor’s website on November 5, 2008, where the two discussed Obama’s senate seat:
From the governor’s press release:
Governor Blagojevich Congratulates President-elect Obama and Discusses U.S. Senate Seat To fill President-Elect Barack Obama’s Senate seat, Governor will use deliberate process to select suitable replacement
Later in the day on November 5, 20008, Blagojevich held a news conference to talk about Barack Obama’s replacement in the US Senate:

Obviously, it does not look like Barack Obama is being honest about his contact with Blagojevich.
HotAir has more thoughts on the reported November 5th meeting.
UPDATE: STACLU found another article from November 8th that said they met.

Barack Obama has denied ever discussing his Senate seat replacement with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
But that was apparently not true. A November 8th article at the KHQA website reports:
QUINCY, IL — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it.

UPDATE at 12/10/08 11:17:50 am:
Another KHQA article on the meeting, from November 5th: Who will fill Obama’s senate seat?
CHICAGO, ILL. — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That’s one of Obama’s first priorities today.
He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.
UPDATE at 12/10/08 11:48:08 am:
And at the Illinois Government News Network, an announcement that the meeting took place and the Senate seat was discussed, with the headline:
Governor Blagojevich Congratulates President-elect Obama and Discusses U.S. Senate Seat
UPDATE at 12/10/08 12:21:23 pm:
Curiouser and curiouser. KHQA has taken down both of their articles about the meeting.
I have contacted both KHQA and the Quincy Herald-Whig newspaper, both in Quincy, Illinois and am awaiting a reply into my inquiry as to why the article was pulled. Even if the meeting did not take place, it doesn’t mean it should be pulled. It’s all very strange. They do have a “clarification” posted now. Will keep you posted.
The station is saying that the reports were wrong so they pulled the articles. The problem with this is they published an article on Nov 5th saying it was going to happen then on the 8th of Nov a different reporter reported it did in fact take place. Both articles were completely pulled. Then on Dec 2nd Obama was in Philly for the Governors Conference were he was pictured 2 ft from the man he said he has had no contact with.
Something is up here and it doesnt smell pretty.
